Changes in the industrial structure and urban expansion centered around new towns are causing a decline in the older downtown areas. CAPTIVISION KOREA Inc.’s G-GLASS creates a strong attraction through various functions and performances and generates finger traffic through social networks. As a result, the natural viral effects invigorate the local business, and various events and cultural performances create miracles of urban regeneration that will bring life back to the underdeveloped areas.
The APM shopping mall in front of Ewha Womans University in Seoul is a large commercial building with a floor space of 1,000 pyeong and 13 floors. However, APM closed its operations in 2010 and has turned into a crime-prone area, which eventually became the major cause of the collapse of the local businesses in front of the university. Therefore, APM installed G-GLASS and invested in and opened Urban Alice, a café, restaurant, and a space rental business of about 1,250 pyeong on the 1~3 floors.

As a result, many customers began visiting APM, and created finger traffic through the Internet and social networks. Naturally, cultural performances such as busking or street performances took place and many exhibitions are now being held in the art gallery of Urban Alice. The Seodaemun-gu Office has also designated this area as an urban regeneration district, and renovated Daehyun Cultural Park, making it a representative and exemplary urban regeneration model with public-private collaboration.
